Life-Centric Architecture
BluPrint|Special issue Issue 2, 2018

All architecture is aspirational and every building a promise of a better life. This is why our people strive to innovate, mindful that the drawings we produce in our studios might one day become places that will live in the memories of those whose names we wouldnt know, whose stories we might not hear, but whose lives we would nevertheless affect.

Life-Centric Architecture

Such is the power of architecture. Its breadth and depth transcend the classical tenets of utility, strength, and beauty, and the modernist discourse on function and form. It reflects our values. It tells our stories. It heightens the contrast between how life was, is, and could be.

Anything we build on one part of the world will have an impact elsewhere. Anything we build for one person will have an impact on another. When we maximize the habitable areas of a building, we enable more people to live in spacious homes. When we design amenities around a variety of personalities and lifestyles, we enable more people to enjoy the fruits of their life’s work. When we relate multiple uses and combine them in a walkable urban block, we put people at the center of the things that matter to them. When we link these urban blocks around transport hubs, we open new corridors that will spur growth in areas that have not experienced one for a long time. With every decision we make, every step we take, we hope to create places of opportunities where people could build their careers, grow their businesses, and raise their families.

This is why, at Visionarch, we never attempted to create a statement nor manufacture an image. In our desire to create places and buildings that are visually-appealing, we keep in mind how these might define the experience of those who will live with them. To this end, we never attempted to force a style or philosophy on our clients, nor do we box ourselves in theirs. Instead, we strive to understand the motivations that led them to seek our help. We listen.
