Last GNX Brings $220K at Kissimmee

You may recall that the car essentially went into hiding a short time after it was purchased. When it crossed Dana Mecum’s auction block it only had a scant 68 miles on the odometer. Hagerty, the collector car insurance company, sent out a list at the end of 2016 of the best classic cars to buy this year, “cars that are poised to be strong investments in terms of value growth and smiles per-dollar,” said the company. The list contained a fair number of cars from the 1990s to the mid-2000s— Viper, BMW M3, Toyota Supra Turbo, Porsche GT3 RS—in keeping with a trend company CEO McKeel Hagerty saw of “younger enthusiasts driving interest in newer vehicles.”
