First of all, I want to congratulate you and the rest of the SA Hotrods team for such a great magazine that I started buying about 6 years ago.
When the Opel Manta came to South Africa in 1971, I fell in love with it. I was only 11 years old when I walked to Williams Hunt in Bloemfontein to pick up my first booklet that I still have today. In my Std 10 year, I bought a Manta 1900 that was only 3 years old.
In 1989 I sold it and bought a BMW 318. Over the years, I collected everything Manta related – 11x1/43 models, 2x 1/18 models, a slot car, 2 x mugs, all the SA road tests and finally, in 2011, I bought a 1972 Manta 1900 AT.
