End Of An Era

The first production Corvette rolled off the Flint assembly line on June 30, 1953. It was powered by a 150hp inline six-cylinder engine located in front of the driver. It was coupled to a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Its performance was tepid at best. In early 2019, Chevrolet announced it was ending the production of all front-engine Corvettes. In 2020, the Corvette’s engine location is being moved to mid-engine, behind the driver. This effectively ends 66 years of production for the iconic front-engine Corvette. As this era comes to a close the Corvette Dream Giveaway is offering one lucky winner a chance to drive home with these two front engine classics. The first one being offered is a 1961 restomod roadster and the second is a limited-edition 2019 ZR1 coupe. Both cars are black and have been enhanced by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.
