Today’s networks must be recalibrated to respond to different classes of services and smart devices in an increasingly differentiated manner.
This is a time when the mobile broadband war is raging on with an unprecedented might. While the titans are currently clashing for a 4G supremacy, the battle lines for 5G are getting drawn out as well. New networks are being rolled out and the existing ones are getting bolstered. The stage is all set for a rapid digitization of telecom in India.
The telecom service providers are getting aggressive with the data pricing, going all out to lure more and more data subscribers into their service folds through ultra-affordable data plans. This is expected to help potential customers take the data plunges sooner than later.
However, once the initial euphoria over ultra-low-priced mobile broadband subsides, it is the quality-of-service that would become paramount. The customer stickiness with one service provider or the other would be determined not just by a pricing but also because of the experience that is being offered.
So, as the telecom industry propels itself into a next generation of mobile data, the T&M functionality becomes all the more critical to meet the QoS expectations of an increasingly discerning customer.
Major Players
Growing complexities in the network due to co-existence of multiple technologies, the need to increase focus on green technologies, and the advanced capabilities coming up in mobile devices have been driving service providers to go for more sophisticated T&M equipment. The T&M vendors have also kept pace with the demand-side expectations.
