Childhood memories...

Sherina Dalamal: “I fondly remember Sundays on the couch, eating Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and cuddling with my parents, whilst watching reruns of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Travel was always one of our favourite times as a family. We would explore different parts of Europe and we loved our summer vacations with our cousins – and somehow we would always end up on a beach!”

Vaneesh Soni: “Our favourite time as a family has always centered around the dining table and the kitchen. We had family and close friends, who all lived nearby, and our front door was always unlocked and open. Family and friends were always welcome – they would come and go freely anytime and we enjoyed countless precious moments joking, laughing, plotting and gossiping over tea, a drink or a home-cooked meal.”

Being raised in accomplished households, how have your family members influenced you as individuals?

S: “My mother has been a huge influence on my life and my style. Aside from being my constant muse, she has always supported and encouraged me to follow my dreams.” (smiles)

V: “I was fortunate to have been raised while living with our grandparents. Growing up in a multi-generational home in the US helped me learn and develop a set of shared values that continues to act as a ‘true north’ even today... although we still managed to be mischievous from time to time! (smiles) My parents are physicians, so I witnessed first-hand, what it meant to have an unwavering work ethic and to ensure a sense of purpose in one’s life.”

Please tell us about your four-month-old daughter, Alaia. What are the common values you share as a family of three?
