Serena Williams is one of the best tennis players of all time. But after a devastating loss in the Wimbledon women’s final, the sports legend’s ego took a blow. “I think for me, any loss is not easy,” confesses Serena, 37. “I wanted to do better.” Now as she gears up for the U.S. Open — where she’ll be in the running for a 24th Grand Slam singles title — Serena’s staying clam. “I just have to keep going and moving forward,” she explains. “I’m on this journey of just doing the best that I can, playing the best that I can, when I can.” Here, the mother of one — daughter Alexis, 23 months, with husband Alexis Ohanian, 36 — chats about life on and off the court.
