Rewind a decade and it was hard to avoid Channing Tatum. With a slew of hits under his belt including 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike, his career was soaring while also making plenty of bank at the box office. But the gruelling filming schedule would go on to take a massive toll.

“I took four movies back to back without any time off,” the 41-year-old star tells Variety magazine for their March cover story. “I wasn’t as good as I wanted to be in those last two movies because I didn’t have the energy.”

FALLING HARD

The couple mixed business and pleasure on the set of Pussy Island. “Things turned romantic fast after working together so closely,” an insider told Us Weekly. Another source told People magazine they are “very serious” about one another.

It wasn’t just Tatum’s passion for acting that took a serious hit as he was left burnt out and exhausted. The busy period cost the Dear John star his eight-year marriage to ex-wife Jenna Dewan. He and the actress, 41, who met in 2006 while working on Step Up together, announced their split in early 2018, around the same time Tatum decided he’d just about had enough of Hollywood.
