THE ROYAL PARENTS PROCEED WITH GRACE DURING THIS TIME OF CRISIS

As the global pandemic rages on and the UK reels from more than 21,000 deaths, Prince William and Kate Middleton are becoming the face of the royal family’s response, sharing glimpses of their private lives in isolation and inspiring the public through dark and worrying times.

Self-isolating in their Norfolk home Anmer Hall, the duke and duchess “have been in regular contact with organisations to understand the issues they are facing”, according to their office, all while juggling home life with Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, who turns 5 on May 2, and Prince Louis, 2, and keeping in close contact with the rest of the royals.

“We’ve been talking to all the family online. And it’s been a really good way of keeping in touch and seeing each other,” William told the BBC on April 17. “The younger generation are a little bit more tech-savvy, but only just.” According to reports, William, 37, has become especially bonded with his father, Prince Charles, who recently overcame his own battle with the coronavirus. “There has definitely been a shift in William’s relationship with his father,” a family friend told VanityFair. “They are very much a team. With Harry and Meghan overseas, a lot rests on William.”
