Pre-Prep education is a wise investment and offers exciting opportunities for children, says Matthew Lovett.
Throughout my 18 years as a Prep School Headmaster, I frequently hear the suggestion that parents should save their money for their child’s secondary education. But as a father of three children who have all been independently-educated from the age of three, I strongly believe that investing in your child’s education early is a much wiser use of your money.
Pre-Prep education usually covers children aged three-to-seven years, but most independent schools vary as to when they admit pupils. Some, like my current school – Kingsley School in Bideford – have a nursery that enrols children from as young as three months. My last school, however, admitted children from the age of three into a pre-reception class. It is, therefore, never too early to start doing your homework if you’re considering Pre-Prep education for your child.
