The last time we saw actor Matthew Macfadyen was in BBC1’s adaptation of EM Forster’s 1910 novel of social tensions and conventions, Howards End.

But Sky Atlantic’s Succession sees Matthew firmly back in the 21st Century, part of the anything but-genteel world of big business.

Created by Peep Show and The Thick of It writer Jesse Armstrong, the 10-part series mixes drama and dark comedy to tell the story of a family-controlled media empire.
