Entertaining children is not an easy task especially now that you have had them at home for a few weeks. It is impossible to send them to play outside because they are too young if not, you are petrified of the Coronavirus pandemic. I am certain you need a break from constantly thinking of new, easy and cheap ways to keep them. You had plans of going out of town for an expedition during the Easter holiday, but now those plans now seem bleak. There is still the option of indoor camping activities that will be a great bonding experience for you and your kids.
Experiencing the wild during outdoor camping is usually exciting. The cover of the stars, the distant noise of a wild animal, the bonfire, and the barbeque meals. Indoor camping can be fun too if you do it right. Whether you have a backyard, or you live in an apartment, you can treat your kids to an indoor camping party. You can use material already available to you or you can purchase them, for use in the future.
You don't have to prep or set the scene alone. Assigning the kids tasks to do makes it even more exciting for them. Alternatively, you can do it during nap time or when they are studying and surprise them after. You will need;
-
Tent for the backyard (there are various sized tents available to choose from depending on your budget and how many kids you have)
-
A large cloth (king or queen-sized bedsheets will do, or two normal-sized bedsheets)
-
4 chairs
-
Bottles of water or canned foods (to anchor your tent. Store-bought tents come with pegs for anchorage)
-
Logs and red and orange colored tissues
-
Sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows
