A lexander Magnus Maximus, a.k.a. Alexander the Great, had made temporary quarters in the fields around the mountainous town of Tilla in Punjab. He would send small platoons, i.e. tactical units, to gather strategic information of the battleground.
He sent his general Edemas to meet and invite a strangelooking group in a Math, called 'gymnosophists' in Greek.
Riding his indomitable 'Akhalteke' horse, the General galloped, met the Jogis/gymnosophist, and requested them to come and meet Alexander. The Jogis, who were doing Surya Dhyana, did not want to be interrupted. They were fearless no doubt, and Edemas and his regal mount Akhal-teke returned to Alexander, disappointed.
