differently.

The hair:

1. fabrics. The more ragged they are - the better.

2. Cut a 14 cm x 10 cm piece of firm cardboard. Tightly wind the yarn around it.

3. Using a double strand of thread that matches your yarn, stitch along the top edge of the yarn, making sure you incorporate each piece of yarn. Go over it backwards and forwards until you have them securely joined. Slide off the cardboard.

Make another 2-3 rows of hair - depending on how thick a head of hair you want.

4. Join the fabric strips into rows. Pin the hair to the back of the head then attach by hand. Continue adding the hair and fabric strips until you are happy with the final look.

When you are happy with the amount of hair you can trim it to the look you like. I trimmed the front section a little bit shorter and opened up some of the strands so that the hair looked fuller.

The face: This is actually easier than you would think and the heat away pen makes this process a dream!

Happy Mother's Day! - Painted Porcelain

I love recycling, reusing and redesigning any object and turn it into DIY gifts that are handmade with a Bohemian look. I am sure all of you have sets of plain porcelain mugs, saucer, pitchers, egg holders, plates, etc., just waiting to be doodled on and transformed into a work of art! In this project I will explain how to use porcelain pens. I love doodling and these porcelain pens give me much more control than paints. No pattern included for this project - create your own free-hand geometric and organic patterns.

Primitive Folk Art Doll

I have always been attracted to anything "Folksie" and enjoy doing punch needle art, making dolls - including Ithose weird little Primitive Folk Art Dolls. Although I have heard some people comment that they are ugly, I like their unique little faces and funny bodies! Primitive Folk Art style is a very characteristic art form, usually having a rough, simple look to them that suggests a lack of formal artistic training.

If You Build It, They Will Come!

Imagine a space where money has no worth and the currency is your Talent. Where children roam free range, safely. All the adults are care givers and the forest gang of dogs is adored by all as they run wild. There are free hugs, no inhibitions, peaceful living, meaningful connections, mindful consciousness, non-judgmental openness and LEARNING – an off grid creative energy space so tangible one can touch it. The day begins with yoga and meditation and as the sun sets the Clan emerge from the forest dust to The Circle of Dreams for a communal, harmonious thunder of a drum circle connecting dance and rhythm.
