The winter of 2006 in Missouri was horrendous. An ice storm had made it almost impossible to get around. The fields at our farm near Odessa were covered in sheets of ice, and the temperature kept us in a deep freeze. Just trying to stand was a feat in itself, and feeding was a chore.
