Help Bees To Move In

Honey bees and bumblebees attract attention, but if you take time to look there are lots of other bees coming and going in the average garden. In fact, the UK has around 250 different species and these are mostly solitary bees. Fewer than 30 species live in social colonies like honeybees.

The honeybee is the most sociable of the lot, with a colony hosting as many as 60,000 members. Bumblebees are social too, but their colonies are more modest. The biggest bumblebee colony will be made up of no more than 150 individuals.
