Tell us a little about creating this space. What was it inspired by?

Laurence: “My home in Gueliz, Marrakech, is a very small house but it has high, white walls and I add colour with paintings, photos and textiles. I try to keep the look a bit neutral so there is not too much going on.”

Have you always loved colour?

“Yes – and since I moved to Marrakech and now live under the sun, colours became even more important. The colours are more vivid here: I’m surrounded by palm trees, pink walls [replicated, above, in Laurence’s courtyard], people wearing oversized, coloured djellabas – people here are not scared of colour. I also love taking photos and playing with the colours of the objects, subjects, light. Light is influencing.”
