"Who's gonna love me now?" is a heart wrenching and honest documentary of a HIV positive Israeli man living in London.
Saar Maoz has been living quietly with the disease since he was diagnosed with the life threatening virus several years ago. It wasn't easy living alone in a big city, facing everyday's challenges and coping with the toll the crippling disease has on his life. Not only did he find it initially challenging to come out to his family about his bleak predicament, but also for society to accept him as who he is both in London and his homeland, Israel. Juggling with his illness, Saar needs to make a pact where he needs to be: His beloved London or his home town in Israel.
This is a humanistic and authentic movie worthy of watching because it deals with universal issues of life such as relationships, family and community. Unlike other movies that deal with the subject of HIV, this movie draws the audience in through its brutally honest and intimate, vulnerable moments of the main casts. Its uncensored content makes an interesting outlook into their lives, making you want to watch it over and over again to understand deeper into our very own life's issues.
