The best watchmakers of the world swept the public off their feet with display of their fine wares at the Salon International de la Haute. The luxury watch show was recently held in Geneva, Switzerland. It was a well heeled potpourri of exciting releases, a trend setter and a rendezvous of the connoisseurs of luxury watches. The much anticipated event was attended by the who’s who from around the world and for the first time opened its doors to the public for one day.
The masterpieces that debuted there reveal how time is likely to progress in the year ahead.
IWC Schaffhausen
In a tryst between moon and chronograph, The Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph is the brand’s first ever model to combine a chronograph from the 89000 calibre family with the perpetual calendar’s moon phase display in a subdial at 12 o’clock. With a clear focus on technology and development, the Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has created an overall harmony with its cylindrical crown and two push-buttons and large lugs of the moving horns. The modern timepiece, works with utmost precision displaying the date, month and day of the week on three subdials of the same colour at “3,” “6” and “9 o’clock,” respectively. In 577.5 years, the display of the perpetual calendar will diverge by just one day from the moon’s actual course. With a 68-hour power reserve and flyback function, the watch is available in two variations: the 18-carat red gold case with dark brown alligator leather strap by Santoni and the stainless steel case with slate-coloured dial and black alligator leather strap.
