I Feel Like Going From Two To Four Kids Is Easier Than Going From Zero To One!'

The juggle is real

Being a mum of four, there are always people who are hungry! I’m always thinking of things to feed the kids, and it’s just a long cycle of cooking, feeding them and cleaning up. I’m like an all-day meal service!

Having had two kids prior, I feel like going from two to four kids is easier than going from zero to one. I knew what I was doing, and they were easy as babies. It’s a bit more hectic now because they’re walking, but they’re good kids. Chris and I are quite strict with all of them, especially around manners and the way they interact. So they know not to mess with us! It just makes our lives easier in the long run.

Over the ages

Being a school mum is a full-time job! There are all these extra things to remember and it is hard when you have to meet the needs of four little people. It will be good when the twins are out of nappies, though. Chris says he thinks things will calm when they’re all at school, but then there’s sports and other extra-curricular activities. I say I can’t wait for them to be out of nappies, but I really am trying to cherish every moment of this baby stage, because I know these are my last little ones.

Two’s company

Darcy and Tom are now into aeroplanes, cars and trucks. I forgot about those stereotypical boy things. It’s funny; they’re just preconditioned to these male stereotyped-toys. They go into the toy room and there’s all of Oscar and Billie’s toys, but they gravitate towards Oscar’s things. But they do like playing with Billie’s old boy baby doll who is dressed in blue. It’s so cute watching them put him in the pram and walk him around!
