TAMRA BETTS WANTS EVERYONE TO BE AWARE OF THE CANCER’S DEADLY RISKS
MUM'S HEARTBREAK: ‘I LOST MY GIRL TO MELANOMA'

For mums like Tamra Betts, the threat of melanoma is all too real. Her daughter, Emma, succumbed to the disease at just 25 years old.

Despite the tragedy, Tamra has now dedicated her life to keeping the legacy of her daughter alive by advocating and raising funds for the Melanoma Institute.

This month marks the 10th anniversary of Melanoma March, and Tamra and husband, Leon, are involved.

“It’s important to us as a family because these funds for research kept Emma with us for two extra years,” Tamra tells New Idea.

“If you are aware of your skin, you do the ‘Slip, Slop, Slap’, and make wise choices, it can be prevented,” she says.
