One of the Most Eminent and Influential Leaders of Our Time, Dr. Ram Jawhrani in Conversation With Dipti Satwani.

Dr. Ram Jawhrani is a stellar example, as well as an inspiration, to all Sindhis for his achievements in the post independence era. Chairman of the Global Sindhi Council and founder of the Sahyog Foundation, his work spans across social, educational and cultural spheres. He has earned global recognition for this from the Sindhi community and the country and has been the recipient of awards like the Mother Teresa Award, Jal Vayu Vihar (Defence) Award, Hemu Kalani Award, Sindhu Ratan Award and many more.

Born in newly independent India, Dr. Jawhrani grew up in Ulhasnagar, Mumbai, where he completed his schooling and graduation. Those were modest times for Sindhis, including his grandparents and parents, who had left behind their roots and were attempting to start life from scratch in mainstream India. A large aspect of Dr. Jawhrani's persona today stems from the huge influence his grandfather had on him. “He believed in charity and always tried to keep aside a part of his income to give back to those less fortunate. He instilled in me the qualities of hard work and honesty which are my driving force even today,” he shares.

With an affinity for social causes already ingrained in him, Dr. Jawhrani turned to creative mediums like dramas, “movies and writing, especially those that conveyed an intrinsic social message, during his adolescent years.
