When I was to be engaged, I went to meet my inlaws for the first time. I got out of the car and suddenly my shoes snapped. I had to go to the neighbors house and fix my heels before going on to meet them,” recalls Sonali Dalwani, Founder and Creative Director at Crimzon, a luxury Indian footwear label. Founded in 2003, Crimzon was born to cater to Indian women’s need for stylish yet comfortable and high quality footwear. Sonali’s goal was to bring international finesse to shoes that cater to an Indian aesthetic. Her journey, marked by her pursuit of excellence, has propelled Crimzon into not just a soaring brand, but a legacy carried forward by her two sons, Rohaan and Rahul Dalwani.
Sonali’s journey in the fashion industry began in 1989 when she started working closely with luxury international brands like Karl Lagerfeld, Mary McFadden, Pons Quintana and Emanuel Ungaro. She further honed her craft by pursuing a course in the art of shoe sculpting from Arsutoria School in Milan and New York. This rich tapestry of experiences empowered her to identify and fill a critical void in the Indian market - the lack of high-quality, aesthetically pleasing footwear catering to Indian customers’ sensibilities.
Today, the brand has two flagship stores in Mumbai, located in Khar and Hughes Road.
