Nothing worth having comes easy, which is the world's biggest cliche, but always seems to ring true for artists in our world.
From working alongside their idols, creating art that has a profound impact, and taking it to the biggest stages, few bands manage to live out their dreams straight away, but without a heart full of passion and perseverance, it's unlikely they'd accomplish them at all.
Testament to the sheer power of hard work and determination, Venom Prison broke through from the underground with their 2016 debut album, 'Animus'. Altering the scope of modern death metal with their distinctly confrontational style, their 2019 follow-up, 'Samsara' propelled them to global status, catapulting them off on tours with their childhood heroes and onto the stage at Glastonbury Festival.
It was definitely a welcome surprise, vocalist Larissa Stupar smiles.
When we started Venom Prison, it was so that we could play a show every now and then after we had left our old bands and were missing playing music. It was just a creative outlet that we were happy to invest as much time as possible in, and it paid off. Revelling in the opportunities coming their way and finding time to write amidst a packed-out touring schedule, by the end of 2019 Venom Prison's third album was ready to record. Planning to kick off 2020 with a bang out on tour with Parkway Drive, before heading to Southeast Asia and Australia, the five-piece scheduled in a studio visit on their return to set their latest chapter in motion, but as the story of 2020 played out for so many, nothing went quite to plan.
