Johnson: Choose To Heat ..Or Eat

Boris Johnson has told hard-up households to make "tough choices" between eating or heating as the cost of living soars.

The Prime Minister said he had no problem with his millionaire Chancellor's hike in National Insurance, from 12% to 13.5%, as it came into force.

And he claimed there was a limit to what his Tory government could do to help people in the cost of living crisis.

The Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said Mr. Johnson's comments were an insult to struggling families.

The National Insurance increase is expected to raise £39billion for the NHS and social care.
