EVEN with England smashing 10 past the world’s worst football team (thanks, San Marino!), the international break is fairly dull, lacking the comedy, tragedy and ecstasy of your average week in the Premier League. Duly, football fans owe Dominic Calvert-Lewin big time; when the striker dropped his Arena Homme+ magazine cover last week — briefly breaking Instagram in the process — we fans could, for a second, believe in the Beautiful Game once more.

He smoulders, chic and assured; as Arsenal and England legend Ian Wright put it, three flame emojis. In other images from the same cover shoot (also all over Instagram) the striker is draped in Chanel bag candy; going full saucy sailor in a tight white tee and jaunty white beret; and “contemplative-but-make-it-fashion” in a bottle green blazer and black slacks, accessorised with leather gloves and thick soled Mary Janes.
Besides being a bonanza of haute names like Loewe and Balenciaga, the cover shoot was all styled by Harry Lambert, which definitely scores serious fashion points. The chameleonic image-maker is responsible for relaunching Harry Styles, in other words, ensuring no one really remembers his hinterland of gap yah tragedy scarves with jeans and sheux.
