The Mercedes-Benz C 180 Coupe has the style, but does it drive as well as it looks?

If there ever is something that can be considered a ‘standard’ Mercedes-Benz, the C-Class sedan is probably the closest to it. As the brand’s most recognisable volume-seller, the C-Class has also steadily grown in size from what was originally a small, upscale executive sedan.

The current-gen car is almost a whole size up and is practically a medium-sedan. The version driven here however, is the C-Class for the upwardly mobile crowd that want something a little sportier. The C 180 coupe might ride on the same chassis as the sedan, but tweaks to its suspension give it a character of its own.

A reshaped cabin gives the car a long, elegant bonnet line that flows to Mercedes-Benz’s distinctive diamond front grille. Swooping character lines sculpted into the sheet metal tie the whole car’s design into one coherent package, and the beltline has been raised so that the lower edge of the windows sit a little higher.
