Maximizing Potential For Tomorrow

From a young age of 17 years old, Lim Yao Peng already had a vision of becoming a coach and contributing to the sporting scene in Singapore.

“I always knew I wanted to start something of my own in the sports industry. I was pretty sure as a 17-year-old that I’m made to do this and I was, and still am confident that I can bring much value to the coaching scene in here and eventually beyond the shores of Singapore,” the 30-year-old former national sprinter said.

At just 19, Yao Peng started amassing coaching experience in athletics, as well as in strength and conditioning. While he was finishing up his sports science degree, he decided to start MaxForm in 2012, his own company that specialises in speed and strength training.

“MaxForm simply means Maximum Transformation. Anyone that goes through training by MaxForm should experience changes and improvements in their physical performance and mental capacity. In short, transformation to a better self,” he explained.

“We aim to give the best speed and agility training to every athlete that comes through our door and to teach new concepts that are applicable to their sport. Apart from performance athletes, we also cater to individuals who are simply seeking to improve their general movement, health and learn new skills.”

Prior to 2019, Yao Peng was juggling the roles of both MaxForm coach and Team Singapore athlete. Interestingly, some of the athletes he coached used to compete in the same competitions as him – them in the youth category and him in the open category – and today they have progressed to the open category or to the national team.
