Find something you love doing and use that to fall in love with your body, so you can embrace change and sustain a pattern that lets you unlock the best version of yourself

The Drive For Consistency

FOR THE average individual, staying fit is both a physical and mental challenge.

We struggle to find clean, well-ventilated gym facilities and just when we find a place we like, we lose interest or can’t find the motivation to stick to a routine. This situation probably sums up almost everyone’s fitness dilemma, and it got me thinking. I’m also a fitness and education consultant with Herbalife Nutrition, so I constantly delve into the importance of consistency and the right nutrition in aiding pro athletes and regular enthusiasts meet their goals.

But, what is it that allows athletes to stay motivated week in and week out for years on end? What allows them to push beyond the pain barrier in their quest to achieve physical supremacy consistently?

I’ve worked with professional cricketers, tennis players, golfers, runners and F1 drivers, and they all have one thing in common. They love what they do—to the point that physically pushing themselves everyday is seen as a means of enjoying what you love doing even more. Let’s try to wrap our heads around that for a minute: You love an activity and you are prepared to push yourself past the pain barrier because it can allow you the opportunity to be successful at what you love, and equally important, enjoy it for longer.

Imagine if we adopted this approach to our training? It would be a dream come true for our health and our bodies.
