But chances of that happening any time soon appear to have been dashed by the release of a documentary and a book, which have poured salt into the already festering wounds of the feud.
The BBC documentary The Princes and the Press suggests that damaging claims about Harry and Meghan, now Duchess of Sussex – such as the actress bullying her staff– were leaked to the media by staff from William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge’s office, with William’s tacit approval.
This has infuriated not only William, 39, but his father Prince Charles, and the Queen, who is said to have been deeply upset by the documentary, which investigated the siblings’ relationship with the media. It has also been denied by the newspaper journalist who reported the bullying claims in the first place. Valentine Low says the source who alleged Meghan had bullied staff was “absolutely not” licensed to do so by William.
A palace insider says contrary to William’s staff spreading rumors, they have repeatedly refused to be dragged into a war of words, even after the bombshell allegations made by Meghan and Harry in their interview with Oprah Winfrey.
