THE BUNGALOW ON THE HILL

Ar. Ojas Kulkarni and Ar. Akanksha Mishra of Spaceunfold Ventures Pvt. Ltd. and the team at the firm had a clear briefing regarding the project 'The Bungalow on the Hill' in Bavdhan, Pune

They had to merge their design philosophy and the client's requirements for a perfect balance. They had to then combine the two for free-flowing spaces unrestricted by walls. Of course, Vaastu Shastra guidelines were important.

Located on the hills of Bavdhan within the plotting lines, you can see the beautiful valley with greenery and the sounds of peacocks in the forests. The layout was part of a terraced bungalow plot concept. It focuses on community living and sustainable building & living. The outlined plots let owners create comfy homes. The bungalow is on an upward slope with a 3m level differences. The team from Spaceunfold saw an opportunity of exploring the volume, along with balanced cutting & cutting.

The home design must keep the present & future inhabitants in mind. It should speak about their future, ambitions, aspirations and more. The constraints of Vaastu Shastra define the space combos, natural settings and creation of vantage spots overlooking the valley.
