This could explain one of the reasons why I found living in Kerala so difficult. When I moved there, I found that they washed their mouths after every intake ( liquid or solid) !!
Whether it is tea or a full-course meal, gargling of the mouth was an essential part of being a mallu (malayalee). After gargling comes spitting. This is again an 'inborn' quality in mallus.
I did my college in Kerala so needless to say that it was shocking (in more ways than one). My lunch will usually be 2 chappatis also called roti. Some vegetable curry and a few cucumbers, tomatoes, and green chili (all to be eaten raw as a salad). Everyone would surround me, trying to see what I have brought. After seeing my lunch, the usual reaction will be "Aaeyeee!!!"
The usual Remark will be "She is going to start cooking only now !!"
I used to get very hurt by their comments. I hated rice. Which is Kerala's staple food. So they used to bring one huge box full of rice and another box will usually have two compartments. The first floor would be a small plate. On this floor usually nonvegetarian dishes are brought. Then comes a bigger second floor where some curry is brought. This may/may not be vegetarian.

Mind Your Mind!
In our society, men have traditionally been labeled as providers and women as nurturers, but there is nothing wrong with being a CEO, wife, and mother all at once. In fact, it can be incredibly empowering. It's perfectly acceptable for a woman to be the primary caregiver in the home while her husband is out working, just as it's okay for a man to be a stay-at-home parent and take a break from work.

That lingering kiss sealed all that was expected; she felt. Sunandana Chatterjee remembered what Jayanta Ghoshal said soon after the kiss.
A Leather Story
This is not a tall story. Rather, it's a \"toal\"(al) story. \"Toal\" means leather in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. Please read on.

Love's Labour Lost
\"Why do we need a man if what he does is to make us women feel nothing while slogging to make a family? We can pick up our drink, and food and do things and look after ourselves.\"

Her Majesty MONI KRISHNANKUTTY
Say 'Her Majesty' and one sees, in one's mind, an elegant, grand lady with a charming smile and a caring heart. Probably and rightly so because only the queens could afford to be benevolent and had the 'luxury' to do charity. While Pazzage always made a conscious effort to find the queens amongst the commoners, this month's queen would leave its readers inspired, to say the least for Ms Moni Krishnankutty. A lady who proved that a large heart is all it takes and not money to do charity.
