How are AI technologies being utilised in the ongoing battle against cyber threats in the digital realm?

As organisations adopt cloud services, they inherently introduce security challenges if the contextual view of cloud assets, digital identities and permissions is limited. One of the biggest challenges for security when it comes to examining the risk to their infrastructure and data is determining the immediate course of action. GenerativeAI can play a central role in scrutinising vast amounts of data, including assets, vulnerabilities and threats to quickly identify organisational risk and provide context that might otherwise be challenging to consider.

What are the emerging challenges faced by cybersecurity professionals as the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to proliferate?

A major concern is outdated vulnerabilities in IoT devices that are easily exploited because manufacturers often leave the responsibility of updating and patching to the users. Moreover, the integration of IoT with older operational systems to create smart industrial environments increases cyber risks as older devices with known vulnerabilities expand the attack surface. Proprietary software on IoT devices can be difficult to update and patch, presenting further obstacles for enterprises in managing vulnerabilities.
