WHY IS THE INDIAN STARTUP WORLD MIRED IN CONTROVERSY?
“If you choose to work with your spouse, there should be no hesitation in designating them as co-founders as well as giving them a seat on the board.”
“You need to be absolutely unapologetic about working with family.”
“It is important to remember that the investor is just another vendor.”
“Put yourself first, always. Liquidate your stock at every secondary sale opportunity.”
“Rajnish (Rajnish Kumar, former SBI chairman) was my fourth hiring mistake — the other three being Suhail Sameer (CEO), Jasneet (CHRO), and Sumeet Singh (GC).”
“I wrote to Sequoia that they should call off the dogs. This peeved Shailendra (Singh), who, in turn, called Micky Malka (Ribbit Capital), to tell him that I was becoming too big for my boots.”
As I read the pages from Ashneer Grover’s book Dogalapan, it seems Dogalapan is rampant in the startup world on all sides.
While laying my hands on the recent copy of the FIR, filed by BharatPe against Ashneer Grover in a complaint stating serious cognizable criminal offenses committed; he has been accused of illegal, unscrupulous, and dishonest conduct. As per the FIR, the offense was committed by a close-knit family that was involved with the management and day-to-day affairs. The following have been accused in the same order.
1. Madhuri Jain Grover (wife of Ashneer Grover)
2. Ashneer Grover (The then MD/CEO of the company)
3. Deepak Gupta (Brother-in-law)
4. Shwetank Jain (brother of Madhuri Jain)
5. Suresh Jain (Father of Madhuri Jain)
