Shoring solution eases work on vast excavation

Altrad RMD Kwikform has engineered a groundbreaking shoring solution for a massive Abu Dhabi excavation project, one of the largest in the company’s history. The Tubeshor system, chosen for its efficiency and safety, accelerated the project timeline and mitigated site risks, including water proximity.

ALTRAD RMD Kwikform (Altrad RMDK), a leading provider of formwork, falsework/ shoring, heavy-duty support, ground shoring and safety and access systems, has supplied a ground shoring solution to support a challenging large-scale excavation - one of the largest of its kind in the company's history in the UAE capital.

The project features a maximum depth of 14.25 m, and an approximate volume of 111,050 cu m. The Tubeshor solution was chosen for its ease of use and installation, improving productivity on site while mitigating the risks posed by the challenging site environment.

Located in Abu Dhabi, the project aimed to establish a vibrant new city centre by seamlessly integrating commercial and residential spaces. This extensive development is set to redefine the urban experience in the UAE's capital. At the heart of this project was a critical infrastructure component: a massive basement excavation measuring around 14 m in depth and 70 m in width.
