"The Battle for Talent!" sounds dramatic and could be an apt title for the cover page of an HR journal; but in reality, it is true to its meaning.
Internal Talent Pool has always been one of the most critical differentiators for most large organizations & to that effect there is a constant need to hire the best talent, find the perfect fit in the organization & continue to build & nurture. Hiring partners have been on an ongoing battle of fulfilling this need - necessitating newer & more creative ways to engage & create value for employees & give them a potent reason to continue to stay create value within the system.
Quite contrary to the perceived notion of organizations alone having the supremacy to select their best talent, we cannot overlook the fact that the future employees in the talent marketplace also have an equal selection power & most often multiple options in hand to choose from-Compensation not being the only differentiator. In such a situation, the Concept of "Employer Branding" takes relevance & explains the organization's image as an employer among the job seekers! Employer Branding is about:
• How employees feel about their organization
• How deep the value system reflects in the culture
• The experiences that they gather in an organization
All of the above collectively create an employer image.
