German Sniper Rifles
In the run-up to World War II, military planners in Germany expected a fast-moving mechanized war. They considered that a sniper firing one well-aimed round at a time was a holdover from trench warfare. On December 6, 1934, the German Army’s High Command ordered all “Telescope Sight Rifles” to be turned in by the 15th of that month. There was no plan for their replacement (from Sniper Variations of the German K98k Rifle by Richard D. Law).

THE STEROID SAFETY DEBATE Studies With REAL Dosages
If you so much as mention anabolic steroids to the average person, you usually get some pretty cross looks in response. State that you are actually considering a cycle, and you are likely to be lectured to about the tremendous health risks you’re about to undertake; how your hair might fall out and your testicles might disappear; or how your body will be eaten away by cancer. Or maybe you will just lose your mind to uncontrolled fits of psychotic rage, or suffer a life-threatening heart attack. You’ll probably hear something like, “Is all that really worth it – to build a little more muscle?” Clearly, the American public has been given a very strong message about steroids: Stay far away from them; they are deadly! You can’t convince too many people that smoking a joint will really cause a 16-year-old kid to pull out his dad’s gun and shoot his friend in the face, but for some reason, the “over-the-top” anti-drug message with steroids seems to have worked. Most people are legitimately terrified of them.

Does Cardio Attenuate Muscular Hypertrophy?
The sport of bodybuilding isn’t just about getting massive; it also involves reducing body fat to minuscule levels. Since losing weight is predicated on creating an energy deficit, hard-training lifters often include bouts of aerobic exercise in addition to stringent caloric restriction as a means to achieve optimal fat loss. The strategy of combining resistance training with cardio is called concurrent training.
Dietary Nitrates And Nitrites: Harmful? Helpful? Or Paradox?
“Eat your veggies, they’re good for you!” is a commonly heard mantra at dinner tables everywhere. We, especially health-conscious bodybuilders, know that veggies are good for our bodies and minds. Nevertheless, we may not know all the reasons why. It may just be that veggies provide necessary vitamins and minerals for metabolism and antioxidant protection. It may be that they contain colon healthy fiber to make you regular. Recent evidence suggests that it may not be the vitamins or fiber that bodybuilders and athletes should be focusing on. Green leafy veggies, and the roots of the same, are rich in inorganic nitrate, which has been getting more scientific press as of late.

FIRST DOWN- A lot of potential, but a lot to learn
There is a lyric in an old song by the rock group Chicago that sums up where Zach Wilson is right now:
IN HIS OWN WORDS WITH DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR JEFF ULBRICH - Ulbrich breaks down Jets' defensive personnel
(Marcus Maye) can do it all. I would feel comfortable with him (at free or strong safety). He’s a guy that, to me, he can play deep, he can play the half field, he can play the middle third, he can do that and you feel comfortable with it. I think he’s got range, speed and athleticism. I think he’s got ball skills and instincts to be a deep safety. But I think he’s got enough size and girth and want-to and courage to play in the box. It’ll be fun to utilize all the things that he does. He can cover tight ends; he can cover some of the wide receivers in this league.

Jets hope initiatives will increase winning edge
Aside from adding as many good players as possible to help the Jets improve, coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas are trying to turn over every stone to find extra ways to give their team a winning edge, and two examples of this were announced over the course of the offseason, with the additions of a game management coach (Matt Burke) and the installation of an Athletic Care and Performance Department. Let’s take a closer look at these two moves and how they might help the Jets:
