Maybe he was feeling the ‘need for speed’ but Tom Cruise was firing on all cylinders rubbing shoulders with other A-listers, including Vin Diesel, Serena and Venus Williams, and the Jonas brothers at the Miami Grand Prix on May 7.

One star, however, caught his eye. Singer Shakira, 46, newly single since her high-profile split with Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué, 36, in June, was spied chatting with Cruise, 60, and the pair ducked away from the starting grid early to spend time together in a private hospitality suite where they continued their close-up conversation.

“He is extremely interested in pursuing her,” a Cruise source told Page Six following the encounter. “There is chemistry. Shakira needs a soft pillow to fall on, and that could be Tom – a nice-looking guy, and he is talented. And she isn’t taller than him.”
