When it comes to blending food, comedy and culture, Nicholas Manuel knows how to stir the pot, cook up jokes on the fly and bring South Africans together for some seriously hunger-busting content. The quirky creative, who majored in English and psychology at the University of the Western Cape, launched his show Sterkbek - a YouTube talk show/ hot-wings challenge - in 2019.

"I was approached by GoBinge Productions because they liked my energy and charisma," Nicky says. "I wasn't keen at first because I wanted to be independent. However, joining up with them was the best decision. I was exposed to so many networks and learned so much about the business side of the media and social media."

Two seasons in (the third is launching at the end of this month), Nicholas has had some of the most engaging interviews and showdowns with South African favourites, like influencer Nadia Jaftha, rapper Jack Parow and even the Heart FM breakfast show team.
