THE GATHERING NEW TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY, 9PM, C4 THRILLER (BOX SET, CHANNEL 4)
When does wanting the best for your kids tip over into pushy parenting? And in the era of smartphones and social media, at what point does monitoring your teen's online life turn into invasive surveillance? These are two of the questions raised in The Gathering, a new C4 mystery thriller from the makers of hit BBC series Line of Duty and Vigil that charts the circumstances surrounding an attack on a teenage girl at a beach party on Merseyside.
Newcomer Eva Morgan stars as Kelly, a talented gymnast from a hard-up, single-parent family, who is putting her bright sporting future at risk by doing acrobatic stunts with a group of free runners.
Flashing back from the attack on Kelly, the six-parter tells the stories of the adults and teens in her world leading up to the crime, including her dad Paul (The Responder's Warren Brown), fellow gymnast Jess (Saltburn's Sadie Soverall) and Jess's controlling mum Natalie (Boiling Point's Vinette Robinson), to help viewers speculate whodunnit and why.
TV Times caught up with Warren, who turns 46 on 11 May, and Eva, 22, to find out more...
