PUPPY SCHOOL FOR GUIDE DOGS

NEW FRIDAY, 8PM, CHANNEL 5 FACTUAL

How does a playful pup transform into a hero hound? This is the lovely question at the heart of Channel 5's new series Puppy School for Guide Dogs.

The four-parter follows a selection of canines enrolled at different guide-dog and assistance-dog organisations across the UK as they learn specialised skills to help people with a disability have more independence.

Among the stories featured in this week's opening episode are one-year-old Labrador retriever cross Eva, who needs to navigate an important obstacle course, and pregnant golden retriever Ela, who is part of a guide-dog breeding programme.

Later in the run, we'll meet black Labrador cross golden retriever Abby, who's by the side of Nathan Edge, who lost his sight 10 years ago.

Here, in an exclusive interview with TV Times, Nathan, 29, who runs doggy daycare business Mansfield Canine Centre with his partner, Emma, shares his story...

Could you tell us how you lost your sight, Nathan?
