The year was 1995, and for TG’s ninth issue, having been launched less than a year prior, a 38 year-old Edward Van Halen invited writer Steven Rosen into the pinball room at 5150 Studios for an in-depth look through his evolution as a guitar player, his favourite gear and Van Halen’s latest full-length Balance. And despite being the biggest guitar hero in the world, Eddie was remarkably modest, talking about creativity and inspiration with the same humbling fear as the rest of us.
