The last decade has certainly favoured Margot Robbie. Just last year, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie—which Robbie starred in and produced—was 2023’s highest-grossing film and painted the world and the box office in its signature pink. This year, she has even more to celebrate as a new mother and the new face of Chanel N°5. Here, she shares her thoughts on her role for the luxury house, its campaign film See You at 5, and her interpretation of femininity.
What does it mean to be the face of N°5?
I never thought I’d find myself in this position, with my career and my life, [of being] associated with a brand like Chanel—and not just Chanel, but as the face of N°5. There’s an incredible lineage of women who’ve come before me, from Catherine Deneuve to Carole Bouquet and Marion Cotillard to Nicole Kidman. It’s amazing company to be in.
