Curating a Personal Haven

Tell us about yourself.

We are a young couple working in finance and healthcare, and we have lived in this four-room HDB resale apartment for nearly four years. My wife developed a passion for interior styling.

When she began collecting design books that inspired her to curate a unique, uncontrived space. She loves these books because they don't advocate a perfect home or promote trend-led aesthetics like those on social media. Our home may be modest and our furniture affordable, but we love themand that is what truly matters.

imageWhat initially inspired your home's design and style?

As this is our first home, we opted for a classic approach without adhering to a single theme. Instead, our home is a mash-up of familiar styles-boho, mid-century modern, and Scandinavian.

With predominantly white carpentry and walls, we created a neutral canvas that allows decorative elements to eventually take centre stage.

imageWe drew inspiration from the modern farmhouses created by Amber Lewis, particularly how she juxtaposes pure white spaces with a spectrum of earthy tones in furniture and soft furnishings.

Could you walk us through your process of choosing the decor for your home?
