Mossad faces false flag allegations

Is Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement) an Israeli intelligence 'asset'?

AND as such, is it covertly used against both the Israeli and Palestinian populations? It could be argued that some of the evidence points in that direction.

Prof Michel Chossudovsky, editor of Global Research, claimed Hamas was founded in 1987 by Sheik Ahmed Yassin. It was supported from the outset by Israeli intelligence as a means through which to weaken the Palestinian Authority, he alleged.

According to Prof Chossudovsky, Israeli intelligence services promoted and facilitated Hamas' rise as a counterweight to the secular nationalists of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) under Yasser Arafat.

It is also claimed that Zeev Sternell, historian at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, said: "Israel thought it was a smart ploy to push the Islamists against the PLO."

Other allegations include the Israeli Cabinet, in 2003, ordering the assassination of Yasser Arafat. It was allegedly approved by the U.S., which vetoed a UN Security Resolution condemning the Israeli Cabinet decision. Arafat died the following year after a short period of illness, aged 75.
