Depardieu: 'I'm too fat to assault women'

GERARD Depardieu told a court he was too old and fat to commit sexual assault before announcing he was quitting screen acting and adding: "People say I'm a real creep."

The French star, 76, was speaking on the second day of a trial in Paris that could see him jailed for up to five years if found guilty of attacking two women during filming for The Green Shutters (Les Volets Verts) in 2021.

Depardieu needed to lean on his lawyer Jeremie Assous as he made his way into the courtroom, where he said: "Cinema is no longer for me. There comes a time when you have to stop and I'm stopping."
