MP urges action on cruel breeders

A LABOUR MP has demanded tough laws to stop "vicious and horrible" backstreet Frankensteins breeding designer dogs.

Barry Gardiner says he is appalled at the rising number of clinics where unqualified staff carry out caesarean sections and artificial inseminations on dogs, and charge customers a fortune.

Charities are alarmed at facilities breeding "fashionable" dogs with cropped ears, flat faces and docked tails.

Mr Gardiner said that many of them live in mutil "extreme distress", and dogs experts confirm that bulldogs and pugs often have to be euthanised as a result.
