KATE Garraway has told how Fiona Phillips was full of concern for the Good Morning Britain presenter's husband Derek Draper while keeping her Alzheimer's diagnosis to herself.

Kate, 56, got emotional as she recalled the last time she spoke to her former co-host before finding out she was suffering from the disease.

It was just weeks ago that her good friend Fiona checked in on Derek, who still needs constant care as he continues to battle the after-effects of Covid.

Kate revealed on her ITV breakfast show yesterday: "What she was doing was talking to me about Derek - full of love for Derek, very close to Derek - and thinking about me dealing with Derek.
