THIS is what love - unconditional love looks like.
Lindsey Burrow tenderly wipes porridge from her husband Rob's barely mobile lips.
She wrestles the spoon from his mouth and replaces his bib, all the while smiling into his eyes.
And those eyes are smiling back, still animated despite the rest of his body slowly closing down from the ravages of motor neurone disease.
The grim transformation of a super-fit world-class athlete into a shadow of his former self, and a family life turned upside down and inside out, would have floored many.
But not Lindsey Burrow. Or Rob.
Together, they have radiated acceptance, positivity and a will to change things for the better.
It helps to have friends like Rob's former Leeds Rhinos team-mate Kevin Sinfield, who ran seven ultramarathons in seven days to raise money for research into motor neurone disease, on their side.
And it's for this reason that Lindsey, Rob and Kevin are named as winners of a 2023 Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Award.
In a computerised voice close to his own, via a monitor that responds to his eye movements, Rob says: "I never imagined I would receive an award from the Pride of Britain.
"I am just a lad from Yorkshire who had a dream of playing rugby.
"I have grown up watching Pride of Britain and every year I am inspired by the true unsung heroes that make me proud to be British.
"It is even more special that I get to receive the award alongside my wife Lindsey and great friend Kevin.
"I am so proud of them."
