Arran tourist chiefs say negative news has led o drastic fall in visitors

ONE of Scotland's island tourist destinations says it is crying out for visitors due to the ""ferries fiasco".

Tourism bosses say the Isle of Arran is "very much open for business" amid reporting of the issues around ferry services which they say is having a detrimental impact on visitor numbers.

Arran has been buffeted in the last two years by a perfect storm of cancelled ferry sailings, uncertainty around replacement boats for CalMac's ageing fleet and negative headlines causing tourists to axe bookings.
